Guide Star Selection

The Guide Star Selection/Verification for each instrument with the OT is performed using the Target Element and Position Editor.

The Manual GS Buttons in the Target Element or in the Position Editor will bring up the Guide Selection Tool. This tool will allow Guide Star Queries of the field of the either the UCAC4 or NOMAD catalogs.

All manually-selected guide stars are added to a Manual guide star group in the Target Element. Any guide star or group can be activated by clicking on the catalog overlay box. For LUCI and MODS, a Guide Star from one of these catalogs can be added by selecting +INSTGS and activating the star within the Guide Patrol Field.
