Instrument

There are Instrument Editors for each available facility instrument. An Instrument Editor must be included in each observation and defines the static configuration.

Adding an Instrument Component

When adding an observation from the pull-down Observation menu in the Left Sidebar, most of the named configurations include an Instrument Component that matches the Observation type. So a LUCI1 Observation will come with a LUCI Instrument Component.

      

One can also build an Empty Observation and add an Instrument Component. Select the Observation in the Science Program Tree, click on the component element in the toolbar, and select the desired instrument.
