About
Steve serves as adaptive optics scientist and LBTI instrument scientist at LBT and holds a joint appointment with Steward Observatory, where he serves as the LBTI Lead Scientist. He is an expert in precision interferometry, adaptive optics imaging, and thermal infrared observations. Scientifically, Steve works on circumstellar disks and planetary systems, and evolved stars, as well as generally anything one can observe with the LBTI. His core expertise is in the study of exozodiacal dust. Steve obtained a PhD from the University of Kiel, Germany in 2012. He held positions at the University of Grenoble, France, and ESO Chile before joining Steward Observatory in 2016 and LBTO in 2018.
