About
Juan Carlos received his PhD in Astronomy and Astrophysics from the University of Durham (UK) in 2011. Second run at the LBTO and before joining LBT in 2021 working at other Observatories in the wonder of Adaptive Optics fields for Astronomy. He worked as Adaptive Optics Scientist for Operations at Keck Observatory, as Adaptive Optics responsible for the AO instruments at Paranal Observatory and Lead engineering responsible for SPHERE and Galacsi instruments and for the next generation of Deformable Adaptive Mirror. At LBT working in the Operational, troubleshooting and improvements of the AO capabilities. His research interests include AGN close pairs, Adaptive Optics developments and atmospheric turbulence analysis systems. He enjoys cycling, surfing and outdoor sports.
