UPDATE (Aug 22, 2024)

A new replacement laser was delivered to LBTO in mid-June, and installed late-June.  However with summer shutdown starting in early July it was decided to wait until SSD24 restart to align the laser.  We expect TMS to be available for LBC observations in the 2024B semester.

TMS Offline (Oct 14, 2023)

One of the frequency-scanning lasers used by telescope metrology system (TMS) failed on Oct 14th, 2023. The system requires two lasers for absolute distance measurements in a dynamic environment, and so the use of TMS when observing with the LBCs has been suspended until a replacement can be acquired.
